ABOUT US
The Hospital was established in 1959 by the Archdiocese of Cape Coast. . The Hospital is presently part of the Catholic Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi [in the Western Region of Ghana]. It operated in the mid 1930´s as a Maternity Home & Orphanage. It has since grown to become a General Hospital with a bed complement of 200, The facility has since its establishment, and to the present day, being managed by a religious community, and lay professionals.
St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Eikwe is a Missionary not for profit organisation, solely owned by the Catholic Church, Ghana, and as a Catholic health institution operates by the doctrines of the Church, through policies formulated by the National Catholic Health Service [NCHS] and the Diocesan Health Service Board.
St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Eikwe remains a mission hospital and a member of Christian Health Association of Ghana [CHAG].

“St Martin de Porres Hospital is a Catholic health facility in the Ellembelle District, committed to providing quality and affordable healthcare for all people with special focus on the poor and the vulnerable. We shall do this with honest and well-motivated staff and in collaboration with MOH, GHS and other stakeholders. We shall achieve this by working with commitment, compassion, and respect and in the most effective and efficient manner”.

ST. MARTIN DE PORRES HOSPITAL HAS RESIDENT SPECIALISTS IN AREAS SUCH AS OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY, GENERAL SURGERY, PEDIATRICIAN AND A FAMILY MEDICINE SPECIALIST. WE ALSO HAVE RESIDENT PHARMACISTS WHO SUPERVISE THE DAY TO DAY PHARMACEUTICAL SERVICES OF THE HOSPITAL.
